This mural was done in the island of Djerba in the Mediterranean sea, in a little village called Erriadh. The image in the mural is based on a photo I took while we were walking back to the village. It’s a small shop 2km away from Erriadh.
On the wall you can see the sign of the name of the street. The original name had faded out with time so we changed it to “Lole y Manuel”, the band we were listening to while we painted this wall. They were a very powerful flamenco group from Andalucía where I was raised. By listening to them, we definitely found a strong connection between Tunisian and Andalusian cultures.
This piece is part of the Mediocre series, which talks of daily life.
